Since so many of you are asking... Here is a link to our registry. We are updating it everyday, so leave me a comment if I'm missing anything. We truly can't thank you all for all of the support and love we have received. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over.
Our little guy is getting bigger and bigger every single day... and its becoming so real. As the days go by (too quickly), we are finally starting to get Finn's stuff together. My mom and I spent the other day doing the baby registry at Buy Buy Baby, and boy was it overwhelming. Im finally coming to realize that there will be a little human that is half Josh and half me, here in exactly 93 days... Holy crap 93 days! The excitement and nerves run together into all kinds of feelings. But more then anything, I feel true happiness feeling my little love moving inside of me, thinking of what he will look like, smell like and the human he will grow into. Mama loves you Finn. I can't wait to hold you in my arms, even if I am terrified at the moment.
We hit the 20-week mark! We are officially half way done stewing up Finn. On Tuesday, I was able to go to the doctors office and see him on the ultrasound. He is literally the cutest baby ever!
What I know about him so far... his perfectly on target for length, but 2 ounces heavier then he should be (my sweet fat little bub). He has all of his fingers and toes. He is on the move. He couldn't sit still during the ultrasound. And we have been able to feel him kicking! That is truly one of the coolest feelings. And, he loves to suck on his thumb!
It is such a cool thing to see him wiggly around on the screen. It makes this even more real. There really is a little being inside of me growing and moving and being...
How did we come up with this name? Well, after hearing that we were having a boy (and shedding many tears because I wanted a girl), we had to come up with a name that we both loved and Josh really wanted a name that had meaning. There wasn't many names we could agree on but one of the first ones we did was Finn... But his name needed something more then Finn in case he becomes president one day, so we researched different versions of the name and came across Finley. Finley is a strong Irish name meaning : Anglicized form of Fionnlagh and Fionnla, compound names composed of the Gaelic elements fionn (white, fair) and laogh (warrior, calf): hence, "fair-haired warrior." We had found our first name, so we fist bump agreed. The middle name is a very important name to Josh and his family, it is his grandfather's name from his mother's side. I have heard many stories of his grandfathers kindness and knew that this namesake was the perfect fit for our little boy.
So there you have it, Finley Odell Cochran... or Finn... our sweet baby with a sweet name.
On March 25th, Josh and I got the biggest surprise of our lives, we found out we were expecting! Surprise does not even begin to describe what I felt when I looked down at the pregnancy test with the blue lines, how many times I had taken a pregnancy test and the disappointment I felt when it said my life was the same. This time was different, this time was right. I had met the man that would change my life and give me what I had always dreamt of and never had... a family.
Yes, life happens as it should, even if it seems like its happening fast... but gosh, are we excited to meet our little alien.
